Emerging Irish Artist Residency Award

Tara Carroll is a Dublin based artist, curator and facilitator. Her practice is predominantly performance, which transforms into other mediums such as textiles, installation, video and photography not as a site of documentation but as art works in their own right. Her practice focuses on female sexuality through explorations of the fetish, which becomes a metaphorically enigmatic intersection between mythology, religion and eroticism.

Siobhan O’Callaghan (b. 1992) is an Irish artist, living and working in Dublin. She graduated from NCAD in 2015 with a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art and Art History.

Laura Ní Fhlaibhín is a visual artist from Wexford, working primarily with sculpture, sculptural installations, writing and performance. She completed her Masters Fine Arts from Goldsmiths University London with distinction in August 2019 and graduated from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin with a First Class degree in Fine Art Paint and Visual Culture.

Blaine O’Donnell (b.1986, Northern Ireland) is a Dublin-based artist working in sculpture, painting, writing and moving image. His current body of sculptural work has developed out of diverse research into the materials, technologies and processes of photography

Phoebe McDonogh is an emerging Irish artist based in Sample Studios, Cork. She recently graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design where she studied Sculpture and Combined Media.

Conor Coady is an Irish visual and performance artist originally from Co. Kilkenny. He has been studying Sculpture and Combined Media in Limerick School of Art and Design since 2014 completing his BA in 2018. Short Listed for the RDS Awards Exhibition 2018.

Mitchell is an artist painter based in Dublin and Co Clare. In 2017 he completed his MFA at NCAD and was awarded a NCAD Studio Residency at NAStudios, Dublin.

A recent graduate from The Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) Dublin, Olivia works with a variety of materials and research methods.

Filmmaker, photographer and editor Helena Gouveia Monteiro was born in Lisbon in 1991. She received her MFA from the Villa Arson National Art School in France in 2015 and lives and works in Dublin

Born, Ireland 1986. I studied at Limerick School of Art and Design (2008) and hold a Masters Degree in Fine Art from The University of Ulster, Belfast (2012).

Ciarán Doyle is an artist based in Dublin. His work observes Edge-lands and awkward spaces in Dublin, focusing on forgotten spaces at the sides of railway tracks and motorways that are hidden away from the main streets and walkways of Dublin. He primarily uses painting as his medium but often uses sculptural processes and model making to explore his subject matter further.

Born in Monaghan, Ireland (1991). Sarah completed her studies in Fine Art at Loughborough University. Since then she has taken part in residencies in several countries and has been shortlisted for two London based awards ‘The Young Contemporary Purchase Prize’ and the Graduate ‘Works in Print’ Prize.

Dervla Mulcahy (b.1992) is an artist who currently lives and works in Cork, Ireland. Mulcahy attended Limerick School of Art and Design (2012-2016) where she completed a fine art degree, specialising in printmaking. Mulcahy previously was a member of the Culture Team at Ormston House, a Cultural Resource Centre located in Limerick City, as well as having previously assisted Limerick Printmakers on several projects, where she is currently also a member.

I take objects with an intended function and re-purpose them purely for their form. This process nullifies the objects original purpose. The objects I use are waste. Waste has no value and no practical use. By stripping an object of its intended function, I make it useless, but by re-purposing waste I give the object a new sense of worth, a new use; I give it value.

1iing is a new media artist from Bray, Co. Wicklow. She received her BA with First Class Honours from Fine Art Media, NCAD in 2015 and has since been making work influenced by cybernetics, alternative geography and feedback loops. Her work engages with a range of media from electronics, game engines, computer programming, installation and 3D animation.

Fiona Kelly is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose research into wasteland and abandoned spaces alludes to demolition and the interim. Her observations of the man-made landscape, topographic movement, stagnation and metamorphosing debris become representations; characters in contemporary fables who narrate a legacy of disposability, regeneration and the Anthropocene.

Yvette Monahan is a Dublin based Photographer who works with myths and landscape. She is interested in how a particular landscape can hold stories of what’s been and what could be.

Rory Prout graduated with an M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Art History, Theory and Criticism from U.C.C, having previously graduated with a B.A. in Painting from L.S.A.D. in 2008.

Patricia Farrelly, is a graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art, receiving a BA in Fine Art Painting and Drawing in 2015. Recent selected exhibitions include a solo show at Sleeper Gallery, Edinburgh, a commissioned performance at Hidden Door Art Festival, participation in London Artist Book Fair at the Whitechapel Gallery, and GUS Gallery, Stellenbosch, South Africa.

Noelle Gallagher graduated with an honours degree in Fine Art (Paint) in 2011 from the Centre for Creative Arts and Media, GMIT, Galway. She has since exhibited in numerous group shows in Ireland including Éigse, and the Claremorris Open, as well as curated members’ shows at artist-run spaces such as Ormston House and 126.

Miriam O’Connor currently lives and works in Cork. She holds a BA in photography from Dublin Institute of Technology, and completed a Research Masters at the Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Dun Laoghaire in 2011. Drawing inspiration from the language, sights and sounds of the everyday, O’ Connor’s practice frequently engages with matters which reflect her everyday surroundings, as well as her day-to-day experiences of being a photographer.

Hopkins’ multi media art practice has been emphasised and inspired by allowing the audience to become part of a work, intending to create a platform for viewing ourselves in a voyeuristic manner. She experiments with digital technology as an interactive platform to question how society functions. Through this process she intends to question the possibilities of subverting a viewers sense of perception and reality, and how this affects the way we see ourselves.

Hazel Egan is a visual artist from Tullamore, Co. Offaly, currently based in Dublin. Her practice is multi-disciplinary, primarily incorporating pencil drawing, printmaking and installation. Through her practice she is interested in capturing the gaps in time and space, what lies beyond a limit and the vulnerability of the human condition. Her work often alludes to the sublime nature and mystery of the unknown and in doing so provokes metaphysical questions.

Amanda Rice is a visual artist based between Mayo and Cork working with moving image, photography and installation. Incorporating research methodologies into her working practise her work discusses the remains and failings of different aspects of industry and utopian systems.
