Rowan Howe received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute in 2019, and studied at the Burren College of Art in the spring of 2019. Her work in painting and drawing alludes to everyday life, particularly in the American Midwest.

Lindsay LeBlanc is a Sculptor/Glassblower, based out of Tucson, Arizona. She earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, graduating in 2011 from the glass and sculpture department. During that time she did a semester abroad at The Burren College of Art in Ireland. Since then, Lindsay operates under the LooLooGlass name and continues to bring her ideas to reality through the lens of glass.

JD Whitman recently received both her MFA in Photography and MFA in Sculpture with honors from the University of Iowa. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and graduated from the Burren College of Art, National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014 and from the University of Chicago with honors in 2013.

I painted my first cow three years ago, not knowing then what importance this animal would come to have in my life. I’m drawn to them—their immense curving sides, their doleful eyes with loping lashes, their surprisingly sharp hips that jut out, and the gentle slope of their udders.

Conor Dowdle lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Originally from St. Paul, Dowdle studied studio art and art history at The University of Denver, Colorado. Since graduating in 2015, Dowdle co-founded Yeah Maybe, an artist run project space in Minneapolis. He currently acts as co-director of Yeah Maybe.

illesha Khandelwal lives and works in between New York and Mumbai. She is currently an Artist in Residence at Flux Factory, a collaborative and community-oriented artist hub in Long Island City. She was a Presidential Scholarship Recipient and graduated with a BFA (Academic and Departmental Honors) in Photography at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in Boston.

[John] Yelverton Freeman was born in Greenwich Village, New York City in 1989 and raised in Darien, Connecticut. Freeman studied visual art at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2011, concentrating in interdisciplinary sculpture. He subsequently earned his Master of Fine Arts Degree at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland in 2013 with a concentration in video art and performance.

Jonathan Pivovar is a photographer currently based in Chicago, Illinois although he often spends time in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the Burren College of Art as an undergraduate through the Individual Study Abroad program in 2011, and returned as a recipient of the Alumni Residency Award in 2017.

Alyssa Coffin graduated from Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts in the spring of 2014 where she received a BFA in illustration with a fine art emphasis and an independent study in creative writing.

I have love for the Burren and I greatly value the lasting friendships I made while studying there. The support and guidance I received from the teachers is unparalleled in my art career to date.

Hannah Hill was born in the small town of Gadsden, Alabama in 1990. Raised by a mother who was an abstract painter and a musician father in a family with agrarian history, she grew up among the enigmatic woods, farms and traditions of the Deep South. This background informed her work when she attended the Maryland Institute College of Art, graduating in 2012 with a BFA in General Fine Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She has shown throughout the South Eastern US and her work is included in several international private collections. Hill currently lives and works in New York, NY.

Thane Lund is an artist, designer, and preparator based in Brooklyn, NY.

Loren Erdrich is a New York based visual artist. Loren has completed residencies at the Santa Fe Art Institute in New Mexico, Sculpture Space in New York, the Vermont Studio Center, and Art Farm in Nebraska. Recent exhibitions include Redline in Denver, CO, the Avis Frank Gallery in Houston, TX, Butter Projects of Detroit, MI, Hugo House in Seattle, WA and The Bronx Arts Space in NY.

Matt Austin tends to apply his approaches to art making in all facets of his life: working, teaching, getting older, having dinner, etc. Though his practices vary widely – from making photographs to publishing books, hosting dinners to building benches – his work remains focused on the importance of honesty and learning from others. Many of his creative projects are motivated by tragic experience and frequently engage the idea of learning to appreciate through embracing difficulty. Inspired by failure and often motivated by fear, he mostly demonstrates his enthusiasm for living by trying things out.

Tim Smith is currently based in Columbus, OH and Boston, MA. He holds an MFA in photography and is completing PhD in Art Education, both at The Ohio State University. As a lecturer at Ohio State and Columbus College of Art & Design, he has taught courses on photography history and theory, visual culture, critical writing for artists, and various studio classes in video and photography.

Nicole Gibbs received her MFA from The Ohio State University in 2009, where she was a John Cavanaugh Sculpture Fellow. With degrees in painting, art history, ceramics, and sculpture, her mixed media practice combines drawing and painting, clay, fibers, and collaborative practice. She has shown nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at The Sculpture Center (Cleveland, OH), AIR-Yamanashi Gallery (Kofu, Japan), Portland Art Center (Portland, OR), and Movement Research (New York, NY). She has been a resident artist at AIR-Yamanashi and Anderson Center at Tower View in Red Wing, MN.

Lydia Pettit is a painter who lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. She attended the Maryland Institute college of Art to attain her BFA and shortly after graduation founded Platform Arts Center (PAC), a community of 15 affordable studios rented to emerging or low-income artists. She is also the Co-Director of Platform Gallery, housed on the first floor of PAC, a space with a focus on thought-provoking shows that question the relationship between artist, curator, and community as well as providing opportunities for Baltimore and regional artists to show their work.

Jeffrey Michael Austin is an interdisciplinary artist, musician and educator based in Chicago.
